The electronic cigarette is a device that is inhaled to provide nicotine as a vaporized solution. It is sometimes called a personal vaporizer. This alternative to actually smoking a cigarette is a relatively new development that is gaining in popularity. The nicotine is inhaled and when you blow out, the vapor provides a flavor and sensation similar to inhaling tobacco smoke, however, no tobacco or smoke is involved in the use of an electronic cigarette.

There are different styles on the market today, but most actually look like a cigarette, with the end becoming red as if it were actually lit, giving you more of the feeling of an actual cigarette. Another common design is the “pen-style,” so named because it looks like a ballpoint pen. Whatever the style, the basic components of an electronic cigarette are the cartridge, the atomizer and the battery.

The cartridge, or mouthpiece, contains an absorbent material moistened with a flavored nicotine solution. Cartridges come in regular nicotine flavor in various degrees of strength and menthol. Some companies also have coffee flavored, chocolate, mint, orange - just about any flavor. Others try to mimic brand names, like Marlboro. Then there are companies who have solutions with little or no nicotine at all and these are the ones people are using as an aid to stop smoking. This nicotine solution is generally nicotine diluted in propylene glycol, a common food additive. Cartridges are usually purchased in a five-pack, and each cartridge is equal to approximately one to one and a half packs of cigarettes. You can also purchase small vials of the flavored liquid nicotine and refill cartridges yourself.

The atomizer, or heating element, vaporizes the liquid in the cartridge so that it can be inhaled. Some models include the atomizer in the cartridge so that you get a new atomizer each time you replace the cartridge. These are called cartomizers.

The long end of the electronic cigarette is the battery, a lithium-ion rechargeable battery. This powers the heating element. Usually one purchases a “starter kit” which includes a battery charger. There are several different battery chargers available, including wall outlet, car charger and USB charger. Most electronic cigarettes have a sensor that activates upon inhalation, but others have a manual button the user has to press while inhaling.

E-Cigarettes are the smoothest way to “stop smoking” - in fact you will continue to enjoy the pleasure of a smoke while avoiding all the negative side effect, since electronic cigarettes are:

Safer: The proponents of electronic cigarettes feel this product is very safe because this nicotine contains no harmful chemicals or carcinogens. Some of the makers of e-cigarettes have marketed their product as a way to stop smoking.

Healthier: Electronic cigarettes are a healthier alternative to regular cigarette smoking. They do not contain the thousands of poisonous substances and harmful chemicals found in the tobacco of regular cigarettes. There is no harmful smoke, only a relatively odorless vapor that dissipates quickly.

More Convenient: E-cigarettes can be used where regular cigarettes are prohibited because there are no dangers of secondhand smoke. There are no messy ashes or cigarette butts and no bad breath or smoke odor on your body, clothes, in your car or home.

Cheaper: The cost of using electronic cigarettes is much lower than purchasing regular cigarettes, once you have a starter kit. The e-cigarette gives you all the nicotine and none of the mess.

A special offer is currently available to Stop-Smoking-Tips.com visitors - a free trial for the top brand of e-cigarettes. The number of free kits is limited to hurry up to use this incredible risk free offer.

Smoke Deter Review

Smoking is one of the worst habits to start, among the most difficult habits to break, and it can also be one of the most dangerous. When you decide to quit smoking, there are many aids that are available at almost every drugstore around the world. However, many of those aids can produce harmful side effects and some could be considered just as dangerous as smoking. That is why people are now turning to Smoke Deter.

Smoke Deter is a natural formula that has been designed by experts in the field of homeopathic care to help those that would like to stop smoking. By offering a natural product, you can be rest assured you are using one of the safest aids available to stop smoking.

True Dangers of Smoking

Besides causing damage to the blood vessels in the body, smoking causes a variety of other issues. Heart disease is one of the leading diseases associated with smoking, as well as lung cancer. According to the American Heart Association, 440,000 of the 2.4 million deaths in the U.S. each year stem from smoking. Also included in the list are hypertension (otherwise known as high blood pressure), emphysema, stomach issues, and respiratory diseases.

Smoking also causes an increase in the aging process. Smokers tend to appear older than their age since smoking causes the skin to wrinkle easy, as well as sag and appear to be dry.

Another issue that smoking causes is lack of energy. Since your body is not processing oxygen at its maximum level due to the lungs being damaged by smoking, your body slows down and can become fatigued quickly.

Benefits of quitting smoking can be seen as early as 20 minutes after your last cigarette!

The benefits of quitting smoking start taking place almost immediately. What kind of benefits?

* About 20 minutes after your last cigarette, pulse rate and blood pressure begin to drop and body temperature in the hands and feet begin to rise.
* Just 8 hours after your last cigarette, carbon monoxide and oxygen levels in the body begin to normalize.
* 24 hours after your last cigarette, risk of heart attack decreases.
* 48 hours after your last cigarette, smell and taste improve and nerve endings start growing again.

Besides the obvious health benefits, there’s also the benefit of saving money. Everyone is looking for ways to save money in today’s economy. Quitting smoking can save almost $2,000 a year assuming consumption is at least a pack a day.

Many smokers understand the dangers and want to quit, but the side effects make it seem impossible…

Smoke Deter Stops the Side Effects

Nearly 95% of smokers that have tried to stop smoking shortly returned to the habit. Many admit that the main reason was the withdrawal side effects. However, you should understand that the risks associated with smoking are greater than the short-lived side effects of stopping and that there is now an option that will help ease those side effects. That option is Smoke Deter.

One of the benefits of Smoke Deter is that not only does this product help you stop smoking by controlling the cravings of nicotine; it also helps ease the withdrawal side effects that usually occur while you’re trying to quit. Some of these withdrawal side effects include restlessness, coughing, anxiety, headaches, and food cravings. Smoke Deter includes 11 active (natural) ingredients to combat this.

* Coughing, headaches, and an upset stomach are eased by the ingredient Abies Nigra (Black Spruce).
* Your nerves are relaxed due to the ingredient Avena (oates).
* Stress related symptoms and those overwhelming food cravings are treated with the ingredient Nux Vomica (Poison Nut).
* Coughing accompanied by chest pain or tickling in the throat and restlessness are eased by the ingredient Aconitum Napellus (Monkshood), while it also calms you.

Sadly, almost the same percentage of smokers that stated that the reason they returned to smoking was because of the withdrawal side effects also stated that they believed that smoking is not as bad as it is made out to be. The truth is that smoking is a very deadly habit that contributes to more deaths each year around the world than several major illnesses.

Quit Smoking Naturally

When it comes to seeking help from an aid to help stop smoking, it is important to find a product that will do the job in a safe and healthy manner. If you’ve been smoking for years or for nearly a lifetime, the last thing you should do is bring more harmful chemicals into your body. Remember that regardless of how long you’ve been smoking, your body is damaged and should be taken care of during the process.

Smoke Deter allows you to reach your goal of not smoking as well as help heal your body that has been damaged by the deadly habit in a safe and natural manner. Quitting today is possible!

Smoke Deter is currently offering two bottles for free for limited time, Click Here Now to use the special bonus!

If you aren’t familiar with the term passive smoking, let’s first go over a brief definition. Passive smoking is also referred to as second hand smoking. All this means is that you are exposed, in most cases involuntarily, to the smoking of others.

Up until the early 1990’s, the effects of passive smoking were pretty much unknown. But many studies conducted since then have proven that exposure to second hand smoke, whether it’s in the workplace or the home, can also have some serious health consequences.

A study done by the Environmental Protection Agency estimates that on average, over 3000 people die on a yearly basis due to the effects of second hand smoke. Now granted, this is just an estimation but it has triggered legislation in virtually every state to reduce the amount of second hand smoke that we are now exposed to.

Lets’ take a look at a few other startling statistics about passive smoking. Did you know that children are exposed to more second hand smoke than adults? And did you also know that the harmful effects of second hand smoke can last their entire lives?

Here are just a few health issues that are raised when children are exposed to passive smoking. They can suffer asthma, increased chances of bronchitis and pneumonia, and are more prone to ear infections and other respiratory diseases. As newborns, if they are exposed to smoking in their environment, they run a significantly higher risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome! Infants who succumb to SIDS have consistently shown higher levels of nicotine in their lungs. Have you gotten the idea by now that it’s not healthy to smoke around children?

If you want to smoke, that’s your decision. But you need to not expose your children and family members to this killing habit.

Just in case the above wasn’t enough to make you kick the habit, here are a few more tidbits on what passive smoking does to your children.

Although the toxins present in second hand smoke are not as great as the person who directly inhales, they still are present and they still do harm. And since a child’s airways are smaller than an adults, children breathe faster. This in turn makes them breathe in even more secondhand smoke!

Can you now see why passive smoking has now become one of the issues at the forefront of today’s society? It’s no longer a concern for just the health of the smoker, but it has also become a health issue for those that are subjected to the long term effects of secondhand smoke.

Let’s face reality, if you do smoke, you affect everybody that is around you, especially if you are at home. And please, don’t start the argument about what is and isn’t your rights. Get over that. Start thinking about what passive smoking is doing to people, especially children. It would be easy to list page after page of medical data to support the claim, but it really shouldn’t be necessary, should it? Do yourself, your friends, your family and especially your children a big favor. Kick the habit once and for all and start living a life that really is smoke free.

Unless you’ve been isolated from all sectors of the civilized world for the last 40 years, you should know the answer to the question “How does smoking hurt you?” From the government to private organizations, the harmful side effects of smoking have been shouted from the highest rooftops practically on a daily basis.

Now granted, the health problems that smoking causes are way to numerous to list in detail in a single article, but let’s take a look at some of the major areas of your body that get ravaged when you continue to smoke.

First of all, let’s begin with what happens each time you light up a cigarette. From the first puff to the last, you expose your body to over 49 known carcinogens. This is on top of the toxins such as formaldehyde and ammonia that you are also treating your body to. But wait, there is even more bad news on how does smoking hurt you.

Shall we deal with the lungs first? Each puff starts to inhibit the lungs natural defenses and your lungs are forced to work harder. The gases that are generated by each cigarette also start to chemically injure the tissue of the lungs along with your airways. Deeper inside your lungs, the smoke damages what are knows as scavenger cells. These have the job of removing the impurities from the lungs air sacs. Smoking also affects the enzyme elastin which helps keep your lungs flexible. This in turns makes you more prone to emphysema.

Want to know what you are coating your lungs with each time you light up? Tar. Did you know that a pack a day smoker will roughly pour about 8 ounces of tar in their lungs on a yearly basis? Are you now getting a better picture on how does smoking hurt you? Good. But let’s reinforce even further shall we?

As a smoker, you make your heart work harder than it has to. Did you know that statistics have shown over 160,000 heart attacks are caused each year by smoking? On top of that sobering statistic, smoking elevates your blood pressure and makes your blood clot more easily which in turn can lead to strokes. Is that worth the risk of lighting up another cigarette?

Still not convinced to give up the smoking habit? Ok. Maybe this next piece of information, especially for you men that may be reading, will finally be the impetus that you need to finally throw away the cigarettes once and for all.

In recent studies, it’s been proven that smoking can be one of the leading factors of male impotence. Yes, you read that right, impotence. Smoking causes a restricted blood flow to the reproductive organs which in turn can cause erection problems.

Now do you think you have some answers on how does smoking hurt you? And we never even mentioned all the different types of cancers that smoking has been linked to. So do yourself and your family a favor. Make a conscious effort to quit smoking. And just so you know, the majority of the damage you have done to your body, will heal in time after you quit.

Smoking is directly responsible for approximately 90 percent of lung cancer deaths and approximately 80-90 percent of COPD (emphysema and chronic bronchitis) deaths.

Smoking increases your risk of developing lung cancer. Twist the statistics any way you like – there’s no getting away from it. 90% of lung cancer deaths in men and 80% of lung cancer deaths in women are linked to smoking cigarettes.

Lung cancer is not the only cancer linked to smoking, either. Research has shown a strong link between smoking and cancer of the mouth, the larynx, the pharynx, the esophagus, the bladder, the stomach and the kidneys.

Cancer was the first disease to be linked to smoking, and lung cancer is still the leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States.

Smoking Statistics Related To Lung Cancer

Some other statistics related to lung cancer include:

Men who smoke are 23 times more likely to develop cancer than men who don’t.

Women who smoke are 13 times more likely to develop lung cancer than non-smokers

There are over 4000 chemicals in burning cigarette smoke. At least 60 of those are known carcinogens.

Smoking low tar, low nicotine or ‘light’ cigarettes does not decrease the risk of developing lung cancer. People tend to adjust their smoking style to increase the amount of tar and nicotine taken in through the lungs.

Cigarette smoking is responsible for about 30% of all cancer deaths annually.

Cigarette smoking causes 87% of lung cancer deaths.

About 5% of all newly diagnosed cases of lung cancer are caused by secondhand smoke.

Carcinogens in cigarette smoke damage the DNA in cells that controls their growth. Unrestrained growth and replication of cells is the hallmark of malignant cancer cells.

Exposure to secondhand smoke, or passive smoking causes about 3000 lung cancer deaths per year.

People who quit smoking before the age of 35 can reduce their risks of developing lung cancer by 90%/

People who quit smoking before the age of 50 substantially reduce their risk of developing lung cancer.

7 of 8 people diagnosed with lung cancer will not be alive at five years after diagnosis.

Lung cancer is the #9 cause of death in the United States.

The more cigarettes you smoke, the more you increase your risk of developing lung cancer.

As the number of smokers has decreased in the United States, the incidence of lung cancer has also decreased.

There are those that will try to tell you that the medical establishment is lying to you. They will quibble that it is not proven that cigarette smoking causes lung cancer, that the statistics have been twisted to make the case against cigarette smoking stronger and worse than it really is.

To some extent, those things are true. Lung cancer is caused by a variety of things, including a genetic predisposition. There are a lot of things that doctors and researchers don’t yet understand – why some people can smoke for years and NOT develop lung cancer, while others who have never smoked do, for instance.

There is one thing that is sure – smoking does increase your risk of developing lung cancer. And you can decrease your risk of developing lung cancer by several percentage points per year by quitting smoking.

Smoking is harmful to your health. Quitting smoking is a worthy decision since it exempts you from cancer and heart disease. Since the number of smokers, especially teenage girls, have increased over the past few decades, their is need to stick and post no-smoking signs to educate the public on dangers of smoking, as well as warn the smokers from endangering the lives of non-smokers.

No smoking signs are instruments used to warn or inform the smokers of the dangers of smoking or to warm smokers from endangering the lives of the innocent. There are different categories of no smoking signs. We have stickers, banners, and message on caps, t-shirt, umbrella as well as messages on the cigar or the cigar packet.

Basically, no smoking signs give a message. The messages compose of written words and a picture/drawing or just a picture or message. No Smoking, thank you for not smoking and, this is a non-smoking zone, are the most common messages in no smoking signs. The message is straight forward, understandable and sometimes written in various languages.

There are various ways no smoking signs are installed. Some are posted on the door, some on cars or on the walls, while others are situated on desks. Besides, computer generated messages, especially presentations in banks is common. Thanks for not smoking in the banking hall is the common no smoking sign.

Though various governments have banned smoking in open public areas, some still do not seem to care on the dangers smokers pose to non-smokers. According to research findings by Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, secondary smokers {non-smokers who inhale smoke from smokers} are sometimes at higher risk of contracting heart and lung related complications than smokers.

No smoking signs are available in many drug stores, designer shops and on the websites. They are sold either in a full package or just a picture or message well designed to suit the environment you want to post the sign. Though the signs are inexpensive, available and help big, many firms do not consider the threat smoking pose to our generation.

Generally, no smoking sign is a picture of a coloured {black or brown} cigarette that seems to burn and then, a line or two crisscross the cigar drawing. This shows this place is a non-smoking zone.

Neglect to no-smoking signs is legally punishable, depending on country legal provision. In most countries for instance, Middle East, smoking is prohibited by provisions in Holy book, Quran. Besides, the Christians are also not allowed to smoke as the Holy book, Bible states. However, many neglect these legal and religious rules and do smoke at their own risk.

Companies, organizations, and some governments have built smoking zones for the smokers. Besides, pubs, bars, offices, airports and restaurants set smoking and no-smoking zones, and sometimes provide ash trays and punishments to non-compliance. However, government, and the world is moving towards advocating to total ban on smoking, and tobacco advertisements to help safeguard the lives of its citizens.

The cigarette contains over 400 toxic substances and also 4000 chemical compounds, all that including tar and nicotine the latter being an addictive compound.

Statistically, 3000 teenagers in the USA pick up smoking on a daily basis. This is further soaring high in that every 8 seconds a person dies due to smoke related illnesses.

According to Doctor Donnica Moore’s website, it is stated that women are more adversely affected by smoke related illnesses than their male counterparts; the website further notes that half of all the heart related deaths in women that are younger than 60 years is due to cigarette smoking. Not only are the women affected adversely, also children either unborn or those that live with smokers can get smoke related illnesses for instance ear infections or in severe cases sudden death in infants.

In women, it has been noted that smoking related cancer deaths are by far surpassing the deaths caused by breast cancer. Generally 1 out of 3 cancer deaths are related to smoking. Cancers associated with smoking are mouth, throat, esophagus, bladder, breast and pancreas cancers.

Quitting smoking is a tough thing to do that needs time and one should not give up following the process. You first must take note of the time that you are most likely to get tempted to smoke; this can be when you are out with friends, when you feel you are stressed, as you drive, or even when drinking either coffee or alcohol. After this you must record all the time that you smoke in a diary, record also the activity that you are doing at that time.

To keep off your smoking habits, you must do some activity that will make you stay away from cigarettes or do something that will not trigger the urge for you to smoke, for instance you can drink tea instead of coffee, tea does not trigger the urge to smoke. You can take a walk when you feel stressed. Remove accessories like ash trays and cigarettes from places that you are more likely to smoke. Pretend to smoke a straw when the urge is too much. Hard candy is also helpful.

Quitting smoking is a process that cannot happen over night, thus you must do it in a systematic manner, for example before the target quit date that you have set, you should reduce the frequency of cigarette smoking or even the strength of the cigarette. Also you should get rid of all things that smell of smoke, they could be clothes or furniture.

Make it known to all your family members or friends that you are on the quitting process, just that fact of having made them know your intention is a motivating factor and is a reminder.

There are medications that can help you to quit, for example zyban, wellbutrin or bupropion. However you must first consult to ensure that they are appropriate and safe. Additionally there are nicotine sprays, gums and patches. Hypnosis is said to help other people to quit.

You can also enroll in cessation programs that are in hospitals, community centre and also health departments. To wind up it is said that smokers do not get old, rather they die young.

Cigarette smoking is addictive due to it containing nicotine and therefore quitting is hard but this can be done with strategic steps that should be followed without fail. It is advisable that you do not give up along the way.

Before proceeding it is necessary that you first set a quit date, this is just to encourage you to quit on that very day that you have set, that date is your aim. Hereunder are some tips that will help you to quit smoking:

It is necessary that you first identify the times that you are most likely to smoke; for instance, some people tend to smoke when they are stressed, while drinking, when they are bored, when they are out with friends or even when they are driving.

Secondly you must then note all these risky times on a diary, it is essential that you record any time that you have had a cigarette and what was the activity at that time.

To kick out your smoking habits, you must look for other activities that will keep you busy at that time when you feel that you really want to smoke, for example drink tea instead of coffee, tea will make the urge for smoking go away, when you feel stressed and you feel the urge to smoke, you should take a walk, this walk should be away from shops that are likely to sell cigarettes or cigars. If you used to smoke while driving, it is of essence to get rid of cigarettes or ash trays as they will take you steps back and you might not achieve your goal. In the place of the ash trays and cigarettes, put hard candy or pretzels. When you feel that the urge to smoke is too much, then you can take a straw and pretend to smoke.

As much as possible, try to avoid places that can make you smoke, for example going out with friends or when you are drinking.

Make it known by your co-workers, family and friends that you are on the process of quitting. The mere fact that they know that you want to quit will make you want to achieve your goals (they are motivators).

Before the day that you have set as the quit date, start reducing the rate at which you smoke, also change the cigarettes from the hard ones to mild ones. Before your quit date ensure that you have cleared away anything that smells like smoke, they could be clothes or even furniture.

Other than the above mentioned tips, you can enroll in a cessation classes that are in hospitals, health departments or even community centers. Ask for medications like bupropion, chantix or varenicline but first check if they are safe for you to use. Use nicotine patches, sprays or gum. For some people hypnosis works. Exercises can relieve the urge to smoke. Do not give up when you are not able to quit smoking the first time, know that nicotine is addictive and the addiction is hard to break. Always try quitting sometimes, with another method that suits you.

As per the World Health Organization statistics, it has been established that 7 people die due to tobacco use. Tobacco consists more than 400 toxic substances and a further 4,000 chemical compounds.

The most hazardous substances are tar, a carcinogen substance and nicotine which is addictive and increases cholesterol and carbon monoxide levels in the body. Carbon monoxide decreases the amount of oxygen in the body and this gives rise to different health problems. Smoking decreases the levels of oxygen reaching tissues because it constricts and damages blood vessels, giving rise to different health problems.

Smokers are more likely to suffer from respiratory infections and other minor complaints such as colds and coughs. Smokers suffer from severe diseases such as heart diseases, cancer, cardiovascular diseases, lung disease, respiratory problems and other problems related to pancreas, kidneys, and liver. Hereunder is a breakdown of smoking related diseases:

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD): This is a group of health conditions that blocks airflow and thus one will have difficulty in breathing. The COPD causes health dysfunctions like chronic bronchitis and emphysema. Emphysema is when one has breathlessness because alveoli or air sacs have been damaged. Chronic bronchitis leads to frequent coughing with a lot of mucus. Smoking is 80% responsible for about 80% of COPD cases. The lungs decline at a faster rate, 3 times in fact in smokers than normal rate. Breathlessness starts due to the lungs dysfunction.

Cancer: Smokers are more likely to get cancer; cancer of the lungs, throat, gullet and mouth is caused by Carcinogen that is present in tobacco smoke. It is approximated that 90% of lung cancer cases are associated with smoking.

Other cancer diseases associated with smoking is cancer of the bladder, pancreatic, kidneys and esophagus, cervical cancer is more prevalent in female smokers.

Cardiovascular Diseases: These are diseases of the heart, the blood vessels, including veins and arteries. Major causes of smoke related deaths fall in this category. As it had earlier been established that nicotine increases the cholesterol levels in the blood, these cholesterol and other fats are deposited in the arteries. The arteries therefore become rigid, narrow or blocked. Due to the narrowing of these arteries, there will be blood clots and thus the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Common cardiovascular diseases are peripheral vascular disease, coronary thrombosis, coronary heart diseases, cerebral thrombosis and cerebrovascular diseases like stroke.

The lining of blood vessels are damaged, this affects the level of fats in the bloodstreams, the risks of atheroma are increased; this is the major source of stroke, aneurysms and heart diseases. Additionally, smoking causes mouth ulcerations.

Smoking has been associated with sexual problems, from performance in sex to infertility. Further smoking increases the risk of high blood pressure. Pale skin and more wrinkles are caused due to decrease in vitamin A levels, smokers have a lower supply of blood to the skin.

During pregnancy, it is advisable not to smoke since it heightens the risk of miscarriage, complications such as bleeding, ectopic pregnancy, premature birth and detachment of placenta. Also still births, low birth weight or congenital defects such as cleft palate.

Basically the health of the smoker and those around them are affected; smokers don’t get old, they die young.
