Stop Smoking with Hypnosis

As more and more information has come out about dangerous effects of smoking, people are scrambling to find techniques that work to help them stop smoking. Smoking is a highly addictive habit and considering that nicotine acts as both a stimulant and relaxant, it is easy to see why.

You wake up in the morning to a cup of coffee and a cigarette to get the day started and then light up in the evening to relax after a stressful day, not counting all the other cigarettes smoked in between.

Many people will try the cold turkey method, which rarely works, or they will go on the patch that simply keeps feeding the body with nicotine, or some other method that simply does not work.

If this sounds familiar and you have been eager to quit smoking but have had no success, perhaps you should consider hypnosis. It is true that hypnosis has helped millions of people across the world with habits such as smoking. With the right guidance, you too can be on your way to a smoke-free world.

Hypnosis

Although some of the dynamics of hypnosis can be a little complex, the basics are that hypnosis helps by eliminating a desire or drive to do something. That coupled with your sheer determination, and it can work. (Stop smoking hypnosis)

What happens is that the powerful drive to smoke comes from strong drives within the subconscious. However, the behavior of smoking is within the conscious mind, which means you have the power and control to alter it. The problem is that the underlying drive can be so strong that trying to do it on your own can prove very hard.

Therefore, in order for hypnosis to help you and your smoking habit, the subconscious motivation to smoke in the first place has to be changed. The good news is the hypnosis is in fact a highly efficient method that works by changing the subconscious motivations. Keep in mind however, that the technique of hypnosis works in a different way on different people.

For this reason, you might try self-hypnosis or hypnosis and find quitting easy and painless. On the other hand, you might try to stop smoking and find it nearly not possible, regardless of the method used. Just remind yourself that even if the process is tough, using either self-hypnosis or hypnosis will make it easier.

In fact, for the millions of people who have stopped smoking and of those who have used hypnosis, most will tell you the difference between success and failure was the hypnosis. The most significant element of not smoking is having the desire to change.

If you are only quitting smoking because everyone is bugging you about it, then chances are your long-term success is doubtful. Therefore, you have to start by getting yourself in the right frame of mind so hypnosis will be the most advantageous.

If you prefer to work with a reputable hypnotist of hypnotherapist, then you want someone who will take a positive approach by helping you identify all the advantages of changing and quitting smoking. In other words, the hypnosis will in fact work by selling all those advantages to your subconscious mind prior to any suggestions being given to quit smoking.

Another Tool to Stop Smoking

Another tool is to find a substitute for your smoking, which will be used along with the hypnosis. Some people will begin to chew gum, some will take a walk, and some will simply breathe in a slow, deep breath. The goal here is for your conscious mind to choose the substation, not the subconscious mind.

Finally, if you are one of many smokers that enjoy this particular habit, you will need to choose another type of pleasure but one that is healthy for your body. The reason this is so important is that if you do not replace one pleasure with another, but healthy pleasure, you will likely slip back into your old way of smoking very quickly. These tools used with hypnosis work exceptionally well in retraining both the subconscious and conscious mind so that smoking soon becomes something undesirable. With this, you live longer and your clothes, hair, and home smell better!
